Common questions and answers about angels
Look at these answers given to some of the most commonly asked questions concerning angels!
What is the evidence of the existence of angels?
There is plenty of anecdotal evidence of the existence of angels that speaks of friendly bodiless beings that play an active role in our lives.
If you have yet to see an angel you will get into contact with them during important life moments.
Do you take your opportunities and count your blessings, or do you, if you are honest with yourself, put all positive things down to luck or hard work?
On our webpage you will be able to read several stories about such occurrences.
Who are angels?
Angels and archangels appear throughout all religions. It is not necessary to belong to a specific religion to be able to get in contact with them. The word angels comes from the Ancient Greek word angelos, which means messenger. The Ancient Greek word archein means to be the first, to stand on the summit and to rule. Archangels themselves were created by God but are not God. The suffix “el” attached to the names of individual angels, ie, Michael, Zadkiel, Ariel and Rafael, is from the Hebrew meaning “like God”. They are the messengers of God meaning they are God’s right hand. They are the link between God and man but are not God.
Angels possess their own intelligence. Every angel and archangel has a defined function and frequency of being.
Angels are pure energy beings who live in continuous consciousness of oneness and have no free will, hence the reason they are compelled to answer us when we call upon their assistance. God created them to help us remember that we are one with God. Angels are also direct creations of God and hence are not separate from their creator source.
Considering that angels come from without the material plane they are sexless. Their energy can be gentler of that of a woman’s as in the case of Archangel Chamuel or as strong and strict as in the case of the energy emitted from Archangel Michael.
Angels do not possess a material body and can move freely through time and space. It is most possible that this is symbolized in their tale of possessing wings. Considering that earthly laws do not apply to them they can with ease create “miracles”. Angels are immortal but this does not mean that they are eternal. Their existence depends upon the will of God.
Our lives revolve around two poles, between “good” and “bad” or more to between the “positive” and “negative”. The friction between these two poles is the lesson that formulates how we are to spiritually advance. If the two poles were not to be people would not have freedom of will. As physical beings that live in the material world we have free will, which angels do not possess. The privilege of free will, which we humans possess, disables angels from helping us when we do not ask them directly. Praying to angels for help is one of the strongest mantras, invocations or prayers within the Cosmos. If we are to pray for help with faith we will never be disappointed. Angels are here to help us. Angels here our true calls for help as well as our prayers.
At this point it is important to warn you that angels will help you if you request something for selfish reasons. Angels assist us in our spiritual development and for that reason never try to control them. All you have to do is call them and with joy they will respond and serve you. The more you will be open toward help from angels the more you shall receive it.
Angels have the capability of materialization- meaning they can during specific situations appear in a physical body and become visible to people. They can appear during varying critical situations, e.g., in times of a traffic accident that someone is experiencing when it is not yet their time to leave this world, it is then that angels can save them through a miracle. Many people have talked about such experiences on how they have survived accidents or catastrophes in this way. And even if angels cannot live out a full incarnation in the shape of a physical body they are nonetheless in a continuous state of consciousness of oneness. They can in fact leave this state of oneness and incarnate as a physical person but they from henceforth can no longer be angels.
In the Jewish and Christian scriptures angels are separate from people. After the physical death the souls of people can go to heaven and enjoin with angels but they can never become angels. The mystic Emanuel Swedenborg claimed that people after death could become angels or demons pending the life they lived. In reality after death our thoughts and motifs are transparent.
Angels without hindrance channel pure God light and through themselves concentrate upon delegated fields of their endeavors. Thus as they live in higher dimensions their vibrations become more refined than ours which is why it is usual that we cannot see nor hear them. When we bond with them we slowly begin to remember who we are with that increase our light and consciousness. Hence working with angels means awakening our awareness.
When we become aware of angels an important turning point occurs within ourselves that allows us to become more open toward inner guidance through which an angel can come to us. We begin to look through different eyes at things, people and animals.
When and which angel can we call upon?
One can always turn to angels for help. We can ask them for purely material things, better relationships, purer emotional and physical patterns, faster spiritual development, protection, help with different tasks etc. We can link with angels mentally whenever through the day and they will always answer and jump to our help. Help itself may not come in the answer we wish but you will recognize it the moment it arrives. Naturally, you must be at all times awaiting an angel’s message.
Messages can be sent to us through differing channels: they may come as answers by the way of dreams, through another person who will mentions something related to the question you asked the angel, through a book that you open at a certain page or for example by way of a television which you switch on at a specific program. When we consistently link with angels they commence appearing more intensively and comfortably in the form of hidden incidents as they commence to awaken our intuition, things we see, know and hear and in this way we receive different messages. In short, our perception of things becomes better and in this way we become more open toward differing mystical experiments. Naturally, for each individual this is dependent on whether the message is recognizable and whether it is truly respected.
Linking with angels and turning to them for help is one of the stronger of the spiritual practices.
It is good that we know which angel is in fact the one we are calling in certain circumstances. If, for example, we need a mechanic who can repair our car we are not going to search for a surgeon, and if we do search for such a person this would be of no use to the car.
If we do not know which angel in fact we need to call then we can instead call for a specific angelic quality.
Does everyone have a guiding angel and who is this guiding angel?
Yes, everyone has a guardian angel.
The guardian angel is our personal guardian and is with us all the time from the time of our birth. Our soul alone chose our guardian angel. The guardian angel is the one who whispers our name to our parents whilst we are still in the womb. Before we are born to the physical body our soul, with the help of the archangels, makes a map of our lives. Our guardian angel is present during this process and assists us to again rejoin with the Godhead.
At every moment of our incarnation the guardian angel knows all about us and the aims of our souls. He is always with us even if we do not see him or we are unaware of our link to him. He works on our thoughts in a positive way but will not force us in any direction when we do not react to his signs and messages.
Our guardian angel can intervene in our lives in exceptional circumstances (in the case of accidents) and save us through acts of miracles if it is not our time to leave this world.
Our guardian angel is with us our whole life in the good and bad moments. They will not protect us from our mistakes because we possess free will and through mistakes we grow spiritually. That means we alone must make decisions, accept them and contemplate over them.
Our guardian angel above all concentrates on our spiritual life and supports us in it in order to achieve our life7s purpose. During this time he allows even accidents to occur in order to help us advance spiritually. We alone are the ones who choose whether or not we shall grow spiritually through pain or enjoyment.
Our guardian angel helps us to quickly recognize our mistakes and in this way ensures our life becomes simpler. If we wish our guardian angel to help us here then we must prayer to him and begin communication and he will then surely respond.
Our guardian angel loves us unconditionally, encourages us and gives us support.
How can we get into contact with our angel?
Angels may appear to everyone, any place and any time. You can get into contact with them whenever you wish but you must increase your awareness at other levels of reality through different exercises and meditations. At our courses and workshops you will learn all these techniques more easily.
How can I confirm close contact and that it is not just my imagination?
It is quite simple to differentiate between both possibilities even if it does take experience to avoid fooling one’s own self. If a being appears spontaneously and we cannot exercise our will upon them then you know that they are present. If they try to force any form of psychic or spiritual soul-searching then you must be aware that it is a lower energy (ego, if this is easier for you to comprehend) in terms of spiritual and psychic interpretations of these experiences. In these circumstances we suggest they are taking advantage of you for their own self-aggrandizement.
Perhaps you will have the need in researching your previous existences through past life regression to find out whether, for example, you were Napoleon or Cleopatra meaning that you must be significantly mature enough to accept that this being is in reality a “lesser light”.
Also, you must remember that your conscious mind, or ego, would prefer to judge things and hence will readily entertain accusations and sorrows before other things. It will tell you what to do in a specific situation and what you are to do now in response to such a situation. This is nothing more than the voice of the all too critical parent or possibly the cynical teenager within. Placed opposite to this voice is where you guardian angel, or Higher Self, stands compassionately, filled with love, being supportive and caring. You feel the present voice of your guardian angel as a moment of consciousness as his words travel faster than you can imagine. Contact with the Godhead will touch you personally and increase your happiness.
How will I know that my guardian angel is helping me when I cannot see him?
Perhaps you will have a feeling that he is with you in the room, perhaps you can see his archetypical form in color or feeling his throbbing heat in your body when he is near you. The most viable proof of an angel’s intervention is the large number of circumstantial events in your life and in the main when it seems that your problems are resolved on their own.
Why should I believe in angels when I have never ever seen one? And how can I turn to them if I have no proof of their existence?
The reason for our writing about this is to increase your belief in the existence of these godly bodiless beings so that you can believe in your prayers and await them to be listened to. It is not to be expected that people will believe in things that occur out of the every day norm if they have yet to experience them. In our workshops we raise levels of consciousness, through specific exercises, of angelic influences in your life and bring to you the capability of evaluating different experiences that will occur around you.
You do not have to accept these beings as angels in the traditional sense. The numerous individuals whose stories about contact with angels you will listen to themselves do not understand these beings in a conventional way. Along with this they have received help because they had faith in a form of bodiless presence that look after our welfare and greater happiness.
In contemporary times there are a lot of people who ridicule the power of prayer and are too self-confident or even cynical in their search for assistance from these invisible presences.
With this in mind, the American general George Patton said that he was never too proud in a critical time during the final months of World War II to pray to God in front of his High Command to prayer to God to give his army for four days of beautiful weather only for the clouds to clear in a few hours and the Allies begin their aerial assault upon the German Forces which became a major turning point in the war. The beautiful weather lasted exactly four days after which it began to immediately snow. After his prayer was answered Patton was never too proud to thank God before his High Command for this divine intervention.
In what way can angels help me?
Angels protect you and your family. They can help you through healing, improving relationships, finding true partners, grater satisfaction at work or a new flat, they can even give you inspiration for grater creativity. They can work as spiritual advisors through resolving arguments and disputes caused by accusations, mourning and grief by assisting in ending these. When you need guidance for a true decision you can request help of angels as if you would of a best friend, guru or mentor. They also assist in your spiritual development.
If angels exist then why do bad things happen to innocent people?
It is common to not easily understand why innocent people often suffer? There are several reasons for this. One of these reasons that they occur to us in order to force us to contemplate the MEANING and PURPOSE of life. Maybe it will force us to create a better world instead of running around day to day simply concentrating life in the direction of purposeless enjoyment.
In many cases, lets say there would be no advancement in the fields of medicine, science, technology and human rights were it not for us being forced to search for a resolution of preexisting problems or INJUSTICE. A tragic death can for example prepare friends and family members of the deceased to again reevaluate their own lives and come to a recognition that in other circumstances they would not have come to.
It is also a possibility that you are enmeshed within an ENFORCED EVENT or INJUSTICE as it is time to repay a karmic debt gained in a past life. These reasons of course do not take responsibility away from us helping others if we feel that this is OK, exemplary or necessary.
Compelling us to believe that we must “SAVE” people in specific circumstances may not always be “RESPONSIBLE” if they can themselves come to a resolution of problems. I put forward that angels work on the same principles. Life is a school where we learn by example and experience. If angels were to resolve every problem in our stead it would be necessary to think about anything. How would be learn by example if our parents did our homework for us?
We alone chose to be born on the earth in order to exercise free will and chose our own fate.
Why do angels help some and not others?
This follows on from the previous question. If we knew that all our prayers would be listened to then there would be no purpose in making decisions. The making of decisions is quite important in order for us to learn from specific lessons.
I am of the belief that our guardian angel CONSTANTLY INSPIRES and guides us even if we are consistently deaf to our inner voice. Sometimes this CONFUSES us too much or simply warms us up too much to thoughts we already hold that of little benefit in order that we will turn our attention to things that deserve it more. If we believe in what is commonly called intuition we will not find ourselves in conflict with others in non-productive RELATIONSHIPS and unsatisfactory jobs.
Must we pray to the exact angel ordained for helping a specific problem ?
An angelic hierarchy does exist and if we know which angel, in reality archangel, we need to call then we will receive faster results. Thus our intentions must be directed for the greater good of all who have involved themselves in your prayer. Moreover, you must be, IN A RESPONSIBLE WAY, grounded and concentrating which takes practice. Anyway you need not contemplate being in a situation whereby you are confronted by detours in foreign lands without fundamental knowledge of the language and guide to get by. So why not then just keep to a common practice of METHODS in your spiritual work?
For example, if a worker who is full of fear at work turns to his director with a request nothing will be achieved. That is why it is better to turn toward the manager directly above him who will then advocate for him. If the worker does not have fear then naturally the result of his request will be more successful. This is the way one should also deal with praying to angels as hierarchy means efficiency.
What do angels do in heaven ?
Angels are responsible for the following duties:
1. They answer prayers.
Angels are divine messengers. They advocate prayers to God and give people their sought after answers. They speak God’s will and act on the world and Cosmos upon God’s words.
2. They assist every living being.
Angels have a preview into the welfare of all living beings. Every angel has a specific responsibility or service as a guardian angel and nurtures cosmic balance between the stars.
St Hildegard of Bingen once said:
“As the solar winds bring the sun, so do angels with their PRAISE bring us God. And how the sun can not exist without light, nor can God exist without angelic PRAISE.”
What is the relationship like between the angels and the Mother Mary?
Jesus’ mother Mary had many names amongst them was the Queens of Heaven and Queen of angels. In some non-canon stories like the apocryphal book of John and apocryphal New Testament Mary was herself an angel who God sent to earth in order to give birth to his son.
Mary Queen of Heaven as Queen rules over Heavenly glow where angels enchanted are her beauty and she loves them like her own children. Angels listen to Mary and she directs them toward archangel Michael and in that way they answer the prayers of people who turn to her for help.
The story goes that one unnamed nun had a vision in which she saw DISORDER that caused evil. She heard Mary say to her that thee moment had arrived to pray to the Queen of angels and request for the assistance of angels in the fight against the enemies of God and people. The sister asked Mary why she could not send angels without the prayers of theirs. Mary answered that prayer was one of the CONDITIONS by which God required of people in order for their wishes to be heard.
Are angels immortal?
Angels are immortal even though it is not important whether or not they are eternal. Their existence is pendent upon God’s will given that God is the only eternal being. In an angel’s MESSAGE there are angels who exist only for a short time. For example, ephemerae who live for one day, or even less. They sing in gratitude to God “Te Deum” and then die. In that way they DEPART IN PRAISE OF GOD.
How many angels have names?
Every angel has a name, as does every being possess a name. And even there numerous angels mentioned in Judeo-Christian tales only the most important are named nonetheless these names are in their thousands (including their nicknames). But in the Christian tradition there are only three named angels: Michael, Gabriel and Rafael.
Common questions concerning angelic names
- My angel has a common/silly/radiant name. What do you think of that?
The name has a vibration. Angels seek you to know them via this vibration.
-
The name of my angel is Michael. Is he archangel Michael?
Your angel is not the archangel but he sounds similar to the archangel Michael.
-
If an angel has more than one name what does this mean?
There exist three possibilities:
- one of the names has come from your own imagination,
- perhaps more than one angel is working with you and they wish to introduce themselves to you,
- one of the names may be that of your guide.
- The last time I asked I got another name.
Perhaps another angel is now linking up with you or one of your guides is attempting to be known by you.
-
Why must I know the name of my angel?
This is not necessary. This only helps prior to the formation of a better relationship in terms of feelings of greater closeness.
Can I become an angel after death?
In the Judeo-Christian scriptures angels are separate entities from people. The souls of the just, lets say Christian saints, after death spiral to Heaven and associate with angels though they themselves do not become angels.
One of the more important mystics who were well informed about angels insisted that after death people became angels (or demons pending on how they had lived).
He was Emmanuel Swedenborg who was born in 1688 in Stockholm. He was unusual in that he was a frequent traveler to higher realms. In his later years he was dedicated to the fields of science and innovation. He lived alone but not through any choice of his own as he had been rejected by two women he had loved.
In the year 1743 he started to experience a deeper level of consciousness in which he was dedicated to Heaven. He came to the discovery of Heaven and Hell, work of the angels and spirits, the true meaning of the Holy Scriptures and the order of the Universe. These experiences were linked to the trance state to which he reached that could last several days and would last all the way his death in 1772. It became common for him to develop his capabilities to simultaneously become conscious of both earthly and heavenly ETERNITIES.
Swedenborg wrote over 30 works of his experiences and conversations with angels. Amongst other things he said that after death a man went forward to the spiritual world. What followed was a journey to his eternal spiritual home where he would become either and angel or demon. Sometimes he would in all honesty chose his true nature in which lay his heart. In each case he would deal with very similar duties he had on earth. However there was a large difference: after death a man’s thoughts and intentions would automatically become known to all people.
